What is the process to buy a DCG home?

Once you've decided on a David Cutler Group community, your Sales Coordinator will assist you with floorplan and lot selection. You'll receive a deposit package to review during your 10 day deposit period. The deposit package includes a copy of the Agreement of Sale, an option book and homeowner's association documents as well as other pertinent information designed to assist with your decision process. At the end of the 10 day deposit period, your Sales Coordinator will schedule a convenient time to sign the Agreement of Sale.

Do I have to make all of my selections when I sign the Agreement of Sale?

You will have two weeks from signing the Agreement of Sale to review the option book and finalize options. Your Sales Coordinator will schedule an initial appointment to review color selections and option questions. You will have the opportunity to review your selections prior to finalizing. Our Sales Coordinators are home design experts, making the color and option selection process an easy and enjoyable experience for the homebuyer. In the case of a spec or quick delivery home or when a shortened delivery time is required, the options may be completed sooner to allow for a timely settlement.

Do you offer financing?

The David Cutler Group is now offering financing designed exclusively to meet the needs of our homebuyers. The David Cutler Group Mortgage Division offers competitive rates and terms and the ease of dealing with an in-house lender. Ask a Sales Coordinator or contact a David Cutler Group Mortgage Division representative directly to discuss financing options, qualification requirements and available programs.

What type of service is offered after I go to settlement?

The David Cutler Group has its own service department whose representatives are employees of the David Cutler Group - not sub-contractors. Homebuyers will receive contact information for our service department at settlement and will be able to schedule a convenient appointment should any post-settlement need arise.

Does the David Cutler Group offer customization? A few other builders I've considered do not.

While we have an extensive option book to choose from, the David Cutler Group encourages homebuyers to bring their design ideas to our in-house architect staff. Sunrooms, conservatories, in-law suites and finished basements are all available as customizations to the standard home plans. The David Cutler Group builds from lumber rather than pre-fabricated truss systems, so we have the ability to incorporate your ideas and create a home that is ideally suited to your taste and lifestyle.

What can you tell me about David Cutler Group quality?

The David Cutler Group has maintained strong relationships with its sub-contractors and has used the same sub-contractors since building our first home in the 1970's. The long-term relationships that we have created means consistency in the final product. Many of our sub-contractors have created and sustained a business based solely on their affiliation with the David Cutler Group and therefore have a vested interest in providing the level of quality workmanship David Cutler Group is known for. Moreover, we use quality components in all of our homes. Brand names like Moen, Corian, Weathershield, G.E. and more are built into every home. Additionally, by maintaining a close alliance with trade groups and the home building industry, we stay informed about the latest building innovations and technology. The end result is that your new David Cutler Group home is engineered to last a lifetime.

Is there a homeowner's association?

To preserve quality of life and community appearance, some David Cutler Group communities do include restrictive covenants that govern some aspects of community life including lawn care, snow removal, common ground maintenance & amenities. Your David Cutler Group Sales Coordinator can provide you with copies of any applicable homeowner's documents prior to signing your Agreement of Sale.

What is the David Cutler Group's warranty?

The David Cutler Group offers a 2 year structural warranty and 1 year plumbing and electrical warranty. Additionally, individual components of homes such as the heating unit or windows carry extensive manufacturer's warranties. As an added benefit, homebuyers who finance through David Cutler Group Mortgage Division receive an extended warranty, 5 years on structural and 2 years on plumbing and electrical.

What is a Quick Delivery/Spec Home?

A Quick Delivery home is a home that is ready for immediate delivery or is currently under construction. Typically, these homes offer settlement times from 30 days to 6 months and are ready in a fraction of the time it normally takes to construct a David Cutler Group home. Our Sales Coordinators choose the best lots and most popular options and create a David Cutler Group dream home that is ready when you are!

Can I still choose my kitchen or options for the quick delivery homes?

We know how unique buyer's tastes are, that's why many of our quick delivery homes offer the option to finalize kitchen and bath selections and add small finishing details. In addition, most quick delivery homes offer the homeowner the chance to choose all flooring materials.

How quickly can I move into a new home?

In general, building time is approximately 8 months but delivery times vary; check with any David Cutler Group Sales Coordinator for the most accurate timeframe for delivery. Quick delivery homes are offered at every community to ensure buyers do not have to wait to move in to the home and community of their choice.
